About The Artist
Geneviève LeDuc is a self-taught artist currently living in Ottawa, Canada, which she has called home on and off throughout her life, interspersed with years living and travelling in Asia, Europe, and Central America. She is passionate about female empowerment and through her artwork seeks to inspire women, those that identify as women, and girls, to claim space in their own lives, as well as within the systems that govern them.
Geneviève identifies as a feminist artist, working across various mediums with a consistent focus on women, from contemporary issues to spiritual connections. She explores these themes through painting, photography, murals, and sculpture, and is now looking to expand into installation art projects.
Geneviève is driven by advocacy and the creation of protest art that revalues feminine energy. Her work challenges patriarchal structures, aiming to inspire collective action toward rebuilding systems that are more equitable and eco-conscious. Through her art, she portrays subjects who are free and powerful, boldly asserting their feminine presence as a form of resistance and empowerment.
